Holiday Chic: Peplum + Brocade

Is it too early to start planning holiday party outfits? That’s a rhetorical question – one that you do not have to answer, because, frankly, it’s never too early.

{On a side note, did you know that Christmas is only 50 days away?!}

Whether it is due to my lack of creativity, my sorry excuse for a wardrobe, or another equally annoying reason, I can definitely relate to the following scenario {and I’m willing to bet you can too}: You’re staring blankly at your wardrobe an hour before {insert your favorite holiday event here}, only to sigh a deep sigh of defeat as you once again pull out that literally-too-little-on-you, not-so-black-anymore dress.

It’s time someone tackled this problem, no? Although there is an appropriate time and place for an LBD, {a funeral, maybe?} do you really want to give off the less-than-thrilling effect of the-woman-who-could-not-decide-what-to-wear-so-she-chose-the-devastatingly-unoriginal-little-black-dress?

I didn’t think so.

So, in honor of the inevitable holiday parties waiting for you in the next 50 days, and because I’m just an all-around nice person, I’d like to present a series of holiday style inspiration. By the time December rolls around, you’ll have plenty {four, to be exact} outfit ideas to spice up your holiday style. So when you’re face to face with yet another holiday party invite, instead of wallowing in sheer, what-do-I-wear panic, you’ll simply refer to this blog for an instant dose of inspiration. Who knows, if you’re not too naughty, I may even continue this series into December {and maybe throw in a holiday giveaway or two!} Just make sure you tune in every week, {and engage in discourse for extra brownie points!}

Which leads us to the actual outfit {not really, but my ever-so-eloquent writing style fails me at this moment, resulting in a not-so-smooth transition, so bear with me}. With a relatively high neck and sheer detailing, you can be a little sexy without venturing into the “questionable fashion choices” territory. Add a glam statement necklace, bright red lips and a full skirt – and this outfit is begging to be taken for a spin on the dance floor. If, instead, you’re looking to gain the boss’s approval at this year’s company party, throw on a festive blazer, and we’re talking business!

Now is the time for you to chime in. Where would you wear this festive outfit? You know where the comment section is.
